MESA, AZ - The amazing improvement in the Mesa football team, turning a 1-10 2011 season into a 6-4 mark in 2012, has been recognized by the ACCAC with a total of 11 spots on the all-conference team. It is, by far, the most for Mesa since 2007.

Leading the way, with two of the three major awards, were Damarious Randall (Fr., Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola H.S.), who was named Defensive Player of the year and head coach Ryan Felker who was tabbed as co-Coach of the Year.

Randall, who has committed to play at Arizona State next year, shares the national lead in interceptions with eight. He was Mesa's second leading tackler with 69 and broke-up six passes.

The T-Birds received five first team spots. Chosen were tight end Tristan McClelland (So., Tempe, AZ/Marcos de Niza H.S.); offensive lineman David Griffin (So., Tallahassee, Fla./FAMU DRS); punter Eric Camarillo (Fr., Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista H.S.) and Randall as a defensive as well as return specialist.

Included on the second team were: running back Carlton Williams (Fr., Indianapolis, Ind/Warren Central H.S.); wide receiver Scott Hutchinson (Fr., Springfield, Mo./Central H.S.); linebacker Malik Barnes (So., Greenville, S.C./Greenville H.S.) and defensive back Jeremy Morris (So., Chandler, AZ/Chandler H.S.)
