Accolades Keep Coming For BYU-Hawaii Bound Sophomore
Tiffanee Frampton was selected 1st Team All-ACCAC and All-Region in her freshman year in 2010. She was impressive again in 2011, earning 2nd Team All-ACCAC honors and accomplishing her preseason individual goal for her sophomore season, being selected as an NJCAA All-American.
On Wednesday, June 1, 2011, Frampton was the only Mesa softball player in 2011 to garner national honors, as she was honored as 2nd Team All-American at the Utility position in NJCAA Division II Women’s Softball.

Frampton, a 5’9” sophomore from Gilbert HS and Gilbert, AZ, led Mesa from the mound, at the plate, and in the field in 2011. From the rubber she went 17-9 on the year, 23rd in the nation, and had an ERA of 1.699, top ten in the conference. She recorded 147 strikeouts, good for 22th in the nation and top five in the conference. Frampton worked 173 innings, which was 14th in the nation. She truly was a utility player, doing a ton of damage in the batter’s box as well.
She had a .513 AVG, good for eighth in the nation and fifth in the conference. Frampton had 53 RBI’s, first on the team, and scored 28 runs, good for fourth on the T-Birds. She had 77 hits, 24th in the nation, and 23 doubles, seventh in the ACCAC and fifth in the nation. She displayed her speed smacking two triples and going three-for-three when stealing bases. Frampton exhibited another tool, power, by blasting eight home runs, best on the team. She registered a .554 on-base-percentage, tops on the team and 10th in the nation.
Tiffanee was no slouch in the field either, with a .981 fielding percentage and committing only three errors all season at third base.
In 2011 the Lady Thunderbirds went 26-22 in conference and 32-24 overall. They earned the third seed at the Region I Division II playoffs and were eliminated by Phoenix College in the semifinals. It was an up-and-down season, but represented another solid year in the Mesa softball resurgence being led by third-year head coach Jon Malgradi.

As good as Frampton was in the field, the classroom is where she really shined. Tiffanee recently graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Business with a 4.0 GPA. At the 2011 Mesa Athletics Awards Banquet she received the Dr. Scott Russell Scholarship, given to the top two of Mesa’s some 300 student-athletes. Her performance on the field and with the books will no doubt make her a strong candidate for NJCAA Academic All-American honors. Next year Frampton will leave sunny Arizona and voyage west to the tropical shores of Hawaii.
Frampton will travel to Laie, Hawaii to compete for BYU-Hawaii, an NCAA Division II member of the Pacific West Conference. The Seasiders are getting a top-notch athlete, student, and person who unequivocally left quite a mark on Mesa softball and MCC.
