Coach Steve Jacobs sees another former student-athlete shine at NCAA DI level
Samantha Henderson last donned a Mesa Thunderbird Track & Field uniform in 2009.
Henderson became an All-American that season for placing 3rd overall in the Heptathlon, a honor she bestowed four times in multis in her two years at Mesa Community College, twice in indoor, twice in outdoor.
Now, she has done one better - actually two better for that matter.
Henderson won the Pac-10 Championship in the Heptathlon for the Arizona State Lady Sun Devils on May 7 and has also been named the Pac-10 Field Athlete of the Week this past week, according to Coach Jacobs at Mesa CC.
"She's just a fantastic athlete and we couldn't be more proud of what's she's accomplished here and now at ASU," says Jacobs.
